Longwood Gardens is a special place that shows changes in seasons and how it has evolved since the 1900s. Longwood Gardens was opened to the public in 1955 and has honored the history of the DuPont and the Brandwine area since then. Longwood is 30 minutes from Wilmington and 60 from Center City Philly. My family Enjoys Longwood Garden as a stop in between Philly and DC.
Longwood Gardens is continually evolving by seasons. Each season brings decorations to the conservatory and outside spaces.

Grotto
Water is an important part of Longwood Gardens; many different fountains exist throughout the grounds. One of my favorites, Grotto, is a favorite outside water feature.
Longwood Garden is a different experience each time you visit due to the season and the weather. I try to make it a priority to come to the gardens at different times throughout the years. 2024 will bring a new addition to the conservatory. So do plan your visit.
